Dead Battery Jump Starts
The number one cause for a dead battery is that you forgot to turn off your headlights or interior lights.
Will your engine not start? Don’t Worry !! It may be because your battery needs a boost or jump start. If the car is inside a garage or an enclosed area, don't worry about having to move the vehicle out onto the street or driveway. We have portable battery charges and will get your car started in a few minutes.
Before we charge your battery we will see if it will hold a charge, this will indicate to the technician if you need to replace your battery. If he cannot charge your battery, you will need to purchase a new battery, sorry.
If it looks good, then our technician connects your battery to our standalone battery charger, it will begin to boost your battery. After 15 minutes, you will be able to start the battery. At this point, it is best to leave your vehicle running for some time or take it for a long ride to fully charge the battery.
Red for positive and Black for negative/ground, that’s how your jumper cables are colored and the cables should be insulated. Make sure both vehicles’ engines are turned off and in PARK, then connect the red clip to your positive terminal on the battery and the same for the other vehicle, repeat with the black negative clip, except this time to the negative terminal on the battery. Start the other vehicle first, then yours. At this point, your vehicle is working off the power of the other vehicle. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Do not turn off the engines, simply unplug the cables one at a time. Please be safe and do not get an electric current.
